Your seed-gifts are being used with enormous care, prudence, and watchfulness for the single-minded purpose of fulfilling our Lord’s command to “go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Because of my fear of offending my precious Lord or bringing shame to His name, I insist that we go far beyond what is required to ensure our ministry’s finances are above reproach. In our online brochure, I’ve included key areas in which we’re accountable to you and honor the trust you’ve placed in this ministry.

Today, we have a monumental challenge—the greatest mission in all the world—to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every community, every region, and every country. We must win lost souls, care for those in need, and make disciples of all nations through every door that God opens to us.

For more than four decades, I have been adamant that our ministry must have an “above and beyond” standard when it comes to the seed you plant.

At a considerable annual cost, the ministry’s books have been thoroughly scrubbed from top to bottom—including my compensation—and have consistently been given the seal of approval. In addition, independent audit firms have given Benny Hinn Ministries a clean report.

As good citizens and as followers of Christ, I insist that this ministry adhere to a fiduciary responsibility that is beyond approach when it comes to the scriptural mandate to:

“render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s” (Matthew 22:21)

as the Lord instructed, and each year we submit all legal filings to the appropriate governmental authorities, ensuring that our ministry complies with both the spirit and the letter of the law in relation to all government agencies with the authority to regulate church organizations.

Benny Hinn Ministries (along with many other large ministries, charities, and other exempt organizations) has cooperated with the Internal Revenue Service, who asked a series of in-depth questions about our activities, expenditures, and governance.These questions probed deeply into every aspect of our organization and included questions on my compensation, my housing, my family’s employment, travel expenses, and many other areas—even going so far as to query our status as a church and a 501(c)(3) organization. Following this exhaustive examination of our ministry, the IRS issued a letter to Benny Hinn Ministries that stated:

“As a result of our review, we have determined that your activities continue to meet the requirements of IRC [Internal Revenue Code] section tax-exempt, religious 501(c)(3) and you continue to qualify as an organization exempt from Federal income tax under that section. Furthermore, you remain classified as a church within the meaning of IRC section 170(b)(1)(A)(i) and 509(a)(1).”

This “no change” declaration by the very branch of the federal government dedicated to the oversight of tax-exempt organizations was an affirmation of our ongoing commitment to compliance with the federal tax laws.

Benny Hinn Ministries has a fully functional and independent Board of Directors that governs the financial and operational affairs of the ministry. Its members include pastors and business leaders from around the country. They are elected (not appointed by me) and are not my family members.

Although the day-to-day operations are carried out by the employees of the ministry, the Board is responsible for setting overall ministry policies as well as establishing fiduciary checks and balances. The duties of the directors include approving annual budgets, major capital expenditures, and fund-raising procedures and setting compensation for officers and executive leadership.

It’s a privilege to serve on this Board of Directors with such godly, experienced leaders. I am grateful these servants are willing to pour themselves into this ministry, providing insight and direction so we can continue to impact this generation around the globe for our Lord Jesus.

My compensation (annual salary) has been set by the members of our Board of Directors with the aid and counsel of Mercer and Company (MCC), one of the most respected executive compensation firms in America. This matter has been reviewed by numerous layers of legal counsel and been compared with other ministry leaders of similar size and scope and other nonprofit and church organizations.

No family members serve on the ministry’s Board, and I am never a part of their decision when it comes to my compensation. And although our Board of Directors believes that my total compensation is a private matter, it is well within what is considered prudent and reasonable. Additionally, I receive no royalties for the products I offer on our TV program, This Is Your Day, or at the miracle crusades, on our website, or on any other extension of the ministry. Every penny that comes from product sales is invested back into the ministry.

Being commissioned to preach the life-saving and miracle-working Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are also called to be good, wise, and faithful stewards of the seeds you plant into this ministry:

“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2).

Considering the worldwide impact of our ministry, our administrative costs are exceptionally low compared to those of most organizations and corporations. This is because of our commitment and accountability to you, our partner, in making sure we use wise stewardship with every seed you plant into the fertile soil of this ministry.

The promise I have made repeatedly and the promise I have kept to you is that your seed is never wasted or spent carelessly. Your seed is handled with the utmost integrity and respect.

It is being used precisely as I promised it would be. Those who have been with me during the past 41 years of ministry understand how diligent we have been in our desire to be both good citizens and faithful stewards.

I have made this commitment, and I will never break it—never turn back from it! I will preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ as long as God gives me breath. And I pray that He will continue to speak to your heart to do all you can to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.
